Day 2: After
spending one night in Yosemite we hit the road in order to escape those
zillions of German/French/Italian and even US tourists. We passed Tioga Pass, payed a short visist to Mono Lake and shortly before dawn we reached
Devils Postpile N.M. (see also [1]). About 100 000
years ago those regular tiles in the basalth came into existence similar to
the hexagons in a drying mud.
About 10 000 years ago the glaciers from the ice age eventuelly polished the piles the way we can see them today.
